A superb little skiing hotel in the delightful resort of Megeve in the French Alps. Set in one of the most charming ski villages in the Alps- Le M de Megeve is a beautiful ski chalet with 42 rooms and suites. Set around a stunning inner courtyard- this contemporary building has bags of style and provides a gastronomic restaurant- a bistro- a balneotherapy spa-a partnership with Spa CINQ MONDES- a lap pool and a wine and cheese cellar. Le M de Megève is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

Built as a three-star hotel in the 1980s, the property that is now Le M de Megève underwent a massive renovation in 2014, which resulted in a dramatic—and effective—rebranding. The overhaul included expanding the lobby area to include cozy fireplace-centered nooks, an excellent bistro restaurantand floor-to-ceiling picture windows that look out onto a courtyard. The clientele is a great mix of couples and families, but does tend to appeal most to a younger crowd, as there is always a fun, buzzy scene going on in the lobby.

Forty-two rooms (including 25 suites) are outfitted with pine wood–paneled walls, orange and gray Arpin bed covers and leather headboards. The look is masculine, stylish and cozy. Rooms are not huge, so for those who like to spread out, we recommend booking a junior suite or higher room category. The duplex suites are a fun option for families, as kids will love having their beds on a separate floor, under the eaves.

The all-day dining M’s Bistro, located in the lobby, has pale gray wool upholstered banquettes and serves French alpine comfort food like cheese and charcuterie platters. The gastronomic M’s Dining Room is open only for dinner and has a set menu presented in a Moleskin notebook, and diners are encouraged to sketch their experiences in the remaining blank pages.

There is a small but lovely spa with an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, gym, sauna and hammam. Treatments utilize Cinq Mondes products, and the après-ski massage is a specialty.
