Additionally, the ABCF foundation, associated with the company, has launched an education program in the local capital, Maun, supporting the education of 15 local students.

Tawana

Tawana completes the circle of luxurious safari lodges operated by Natural Selection in northern Botswana, seamlessly joining Jack’s Camp, Tuludi, and North Island Okavango in the company’s esteemed portfolio. This addition encompasses eight suites. What sets Tawana apart is its unique collaboration with Chief Tawana Moremi of the Batawana tribe, contributing to the establishment of the camp on the banks of the Gomoti River in the Moremi Game Reserve. Situated in the Mababe wilderness area, the surrounding lands host Africa’s largest congregations of buffalo and mega-aggregations of elephants.

BANYAN TREE ILHA CALDEIRA MOZAMBIQUE

Located on the private Island of Ilha Caldeira off the coast of Mozambique, Banyan Tree Ilha Caldeira will present 40 private pool villas showcasing breathtaking oceanfront views of the pristine Indian Ocean, along with captivating sunrise and sunset panoramas. This solar-powered resort is situated within Africa’s largest marine reserve, ensuring a commitment to preservation and sustainable practices that extend to the beaches, reefs, and the signature fish-and-seafood restaurant on-site. The property will also include a Banyan Tree branded spa and provide a range of activities such as whale watching, snorkeling, kayaking, and more.

Pioneering as the inaugural luxury tented camp in South Africa, Royal Malewane will showcase ultra-luxurious tents meticulously designed by Liz Biden, renowned for her classic, colorful, and eclectic style. Singita, a renowned and long-standing operator in Africa, is once again expanding its portfolio with the introduction of Milele, a new five-suite villa nestled in the Grumeti Reserve adjacent to Tanzania’s famed Serengeti National Park. Designed to cater to large families and groups seeking an exclusive safari experience, the villa can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. Each suite is thoughtfully equipped with a terrace or deck, a walk-in dressing room, an outdoor shower, and sweeping views. Notably, two of the suites feature Jacuzzis. Going beyond individual suites, the villa’s shared spaces are equally impressive, offering a boma, outdoor sala, infinity pool, and a dedicated movie room.

VOAARA MADAGASCAR

Voaara, a collection curated by luxury travel writer Philippe Kjellgren, comprises eight bungalows and a three-bedroom villa situated on Sainte-Marie Island, off the northeast coast of Madagascar. Drawing from his extensive experience of staying in over 2,000 hotels across 149 countries, Kjellgren aims to infuse this destination with a sense of tranquil, barefoot luxury. The resort, designed by South African-Chilean architect Luis F Mira, incorporates local materials and reclaimed wood, with Mira also overseeing the creation of the infinity pools. While a spa is set to be introduced later in 2024, there are plans for a phased expansion of rooms targeting 45 keys. The culinary program at the resort prioritizes local dishes and produce. Notably, for those captivated by the experience, the opportunity to purchase is available, with a few villas being offered for sale.

Since the late 90s, Volcanoes Safaris has been at the forefront of ecotourism in Uganda and Rwanda, specializing in gorilla and chimp trekking. Their latest venture, Kibale Lodge, consists of eight rooms and a villa, strategically positioned just 30 minutes away from the habitat of the apes near Uganda’s Kibale National Park. This park is home to a lively group of 1,500 chimpanzees and offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon. Built as a royal summer palace in the 19th century and later serving as the Marie Feuillet military hospital, Kasr Al Bahr, meaning “castle of the sea,” underwent extensive renovations and meticulous rehabilitation. Now, as the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr, this historic property spans five hectares and offers 204 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel features seven restaurants and lounges, a spa with treatment rooms and an indoor pool, multiple outdoor resort-style pools, and expansive conference and event spaces. The restoration was led by Moroccan architect Karim Chakor of META Atelier d’Architecture, with interior design and landscaping by Roger Nazarian and Associates.

Centrally located with easy access to key international and regional hubs, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from Rabat–Salé Airport and 90 minutes from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport. Visitors can also utilize Morocco’s high-speed train network for seamless journeys to Casablanca (45 minutes) and Tangier (1 hour 45 minutes). The hotel’s transformation marks a new era for this historic site, combining heritage charm with modern luxury.
